Special Thanks
To Vic Lase and friends for the ground cover plants in our church sign flowerbox.
To Rev. Earnest Brooks for making the Tree of Life crucifix wire sculpture as a gift to adorn our sanctuary. (He lent us his last year; this is ours!)

The text on our new wood carving now mounted above the doors in in the back of the church is based on hymn 836, Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee, quoting the first line of the first verse, and the last line of the last verse.  From verse 2 the text is not quoted, but depicted:

"angels sing around thee, center of unbroken praise.
Field and forest, vale and mountain, flowery meadow, flashing sea,
chanting bird and flowering fountain call us to rejoice in Thee."

Regular Maintenance
Regular maintenance is always needed if you are looking for ways to help.  Watch for the next CREW  (Consistent, Reliable, Eager, Workers)  workday event, or just come out for an hour or so and help maintain the garden or haul some brush from the field onto the main debris pile.  Many hands each doing a manageable part is easy.

Simply Giving Changes a few things
Beginning in January, 2010, Simply Giving will begin to assess a transaction fee of 20 cents per transaction. While that may not seem like very much, we hope to minimize that by suggesting that all who use Simply Giving change weekly giving to monthly giving. For example, let’s say that your weekly giving is $50 for 52 weeks. The total is $2,600 for one year. However, the 20 cent transaction fee is for 52 transactions, which is $10.40. If, however, you change your giving to monthly, that would be $217 per month, and the transaction fee is only $2.40 for 12 transactions. In these hard times, we can use the $8 difference much more than the bank that sets the fee charge. Please talk to Herm Weyland if you need help to make that change.

Don't Forget!!

We have an ongoing opportunity for people to assist in our ministry of worship.
We need Lectors to read the lessons.
We need Ushers to assist worshippers.
We need Altar Preparers to set up and clean up the Eucharistic vessels.
We need Communion Assistants to help serve the Cup and Tray.
We need Coffee Time Hosts to set up and serve our coffee fellowship time Sunday mornings. (Usually, one Host sets up and another cleans up at the end of coffee hour.)
Do you want to help, but don't know just what to do? Ask Pastor Koch, and get involved.

Please sign up on the bulletin board in the breezeway. We can't do it without volunteers. Thank you!
